What I've been up to.

Wanted to finally show some of the pages that I worked on. The first two, I actually managed to do while my parents were visiting me in early December. The rest I did these last 3 weeks.

January's been a busy month. Tamara made her Junior High's Senior basketball team. I volunteered to be a driver, so that every away game and tournament I have 4 loud, giggling, nervous girls in the car. It's a lot of fun. I am working on pictures of her games.
I have been looking for a part-time job but so far no success. Wish me luck on that!
And currently we are having the carpet replaced in our house. So everything is tossy turvey and it will all be completed hopefully by Friday.
Finally, we are going on a trip. My loving, wonderful husband is spoiling us and is taking Tamara and I on a trip to the sun. Can't wait, 11 days and counting.   =) Lisa

The Ups and Downs of December

My parents being able to visit us in early December was one of the highs. But seeing how ill my Dad was a low.

Though our visit was shortened, I was grateful to have that time with them. Especially with my Dad, as his health took a turn for the worse and he passed away a few days after returning to Ontario. (passed 13 Dec 09)

Then I got to meet my nephews, Pat Rowan and Ayden Lafreniere, both were highlights despite the tough times we were going through.

(born 23 Dec 09)

Then finally got to enjoy a little Christmas cheer with family, both in St. Catharines. (Thanks to Jackie & John.) And then in Crystal City with the Hildebrand clan. (A big thanks to them as well.)
Being surrounded by family is a wonderful thing.

The next pic is the scrapbook page that framed for my brother & sister-in-law for Christmas.

Finally, a New Year. Hope this year brings Peace, Happiness and Good Health to everyone. =) Lisa

Floral Design Level 3 Classes 2, 3 and 4

Class 2's project was to make contemporary coursage and boutonniere's using non-traditional materials. I ended up focusing more on the boutonniere's. Had fun with them.

Class 3's project was a hand-tied bouquet.

Class 4's project was to create a modern classic design incorporating fruit and flowers and implementing advanced colour theory. This one I had some difficulty getting started on because it was also going to be asymmetrical design I needed to pre-green my conatainer and I had a hard time doing that. Once I got some helpful hints from my instructor, it all came together. =)
